As the ’09 season fast approaches, the Ballers hope to get into a division with more competition. Last seasons poor scheduling pitted the Ballers against teams that hit a home run every other at bat. Frustrated, they went into the fall season facing teams more of their caliber. This year we hope that Chris can actually put together a well formulated season.

This year’s lineup is possibly going to look quite a bit different from years prior. Neil Harvey has a rotator cuff injury and is currently in rehab to tend to his injury. Unfortunately only time will tell if he will be able to play this season. Steve Daniels and Josh Furman are both contemplating a return to the season due to time constraints.

With the loss of the three Ballers, the acquisition of Mitch Smith and Joe Butchek (full time) will put the team at full strength. Everyone is familiar with Joe and the power that he would add to the team but this would be the first time a few of the Ballers got a good look at Mitch. Mitch packs some power. With his quick speed, he looks to replace the ageing Matt Barnard at the top of the order. Ha ha, kidding Matt.

The rest of the team is comprised of Matt Jones, Nick Barnard, Matt Barnard, Steve Myers, and Sean Mullinax – all original Ballers. Lane Kress and James Furman, both five year veterans, will also be returning for another season. Utility player, Chris Dukett, will be returning as well to add the extra post season spark that he is so well known for.
